Celebrating Success: LIVEfree Project Named Newcastle's 2024 Community Group of the Year

In a momentous occasion, LIVEfree Project is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious title of Newcastle's 2024 Community Group of the Year for the City of Newcastle.

This esteemed award is a testament to the significant contributions we've made to the welfare of our community, enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in Newcastle. Awarded by the honourable Lord Mayor of the city Nuatali Nelmes and unanimously endorsed by the whole advisory board. To say we are extremely honoured to be seen and recognised is a complete understatement. We are also deeply aware that it is our rich connection to community and our collaboration with our sponsors and supporters that has made this possible.  This award testifies to what a company of passionate people can do together who have vision, skill, resource and who dare to ask the question – “Is there something we can do to help?”

Recognition of Commitment to Wellbeing and Connection

The City of Newcastle awards this title to organisations that have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the community's welfare, making a lasting impact on the lives of its residents. LIVEfree Project has been honoured with this award for our unwavering advocacy of wellbeing and our strong connection with the local community.

Our active involvement with community members facing hardship and trauma has played a crucial role in addressing issues of isolation and loneliness, fostering a sense of wellbeing and support. We believe in the transformative power of community, and this recognition reinforces our commitment to creating a network of care and connection for all.

Empowering the Future: Programs for Children

One of the standout features acknowledged by the City of Newcastle is LIVEfree Project's commitment to the future of the community – our children. Programs such as Smile and Thrive, Shine Bright, and the Brighter Beginnings Bus have had a profound impact on the young minds that represent the future of Newcastle.

“Smile and Thrive Dental Program”, is an initiative that goes beyond routine check-up but carries out all the dental work needed for a child – this may mean surgeries, 8 appointments for bobcat fillings and teeth removal – we support the families through this whole process.

“Shine Bright Program”, our schools program focusing on various wellbeing issues faced by children and youth – seeking to bring increased confidence, safety, and support to students to understand and recognise anxiety, mental health and receive skill to increase resilience.

The “Brighter Beginnings Bus Program”, brings safe access to education each and EVERY day increasing safety, positive social connection and behaviours , increasing education and knowledge and achievement -  all contribute to the overall enduring wellbeing and growth of children in our community.

These programs have become cornerstones in nurturing the potential and resilience of the younger generation and flagship for our organisation and city as we care for the vulnerable within her streets.
