Directors Letter July 2026

Where has the year gone – I am sure you are all wondering that the same as I am.

What and an amazing time we have been having in community being busy equipping, nurturing and strengthening young people, students, families and individuals with life skills, life-long enduring knowledge that will help shape their future steps and connection with our Stronger Families and Connected Future Pathways programs...what a privilege!!

We have also see some amazing rollouts of our “Shine Bright” programs in many schools, and a highlight for me would have been the opportunity to roll out Aboriginal programs for Reconciliation and NAIDOC – culture and story is so important and underpins identity and belonging, this is why these programs are so important for our community – raise awareness, raise curiosity and also raise the understanding of diversity and cultural embrace across community only helps us all SHINE brighter as we seek to sit, learn, listen and understand!!

I seriously love and believe in what we do here at LIVEfree Project within community.

We partner with some of the best people on the planet, and we simply couldn’t do what we do without you. I would love to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you that contributed to our EOFY campaign, seeing that total at $77,761.86 has just blown us away!

The lean in of trust, resource and passion is something that we do not take lightly, and we are excited for the future, knowing that this will help to hold some of the amazing on the ground, everyday engagement in our local community – THANK YOU.

As I finish off this newsletter; I want to take the time to honour a dear friend, and community partner who has passed away this week, “Sue Jane Prosser” from Soul Hub Newcastle.

Her tireless work in the community space of homelessness will never be forgotten, and she has significantly positively impacted a generation both now and to come because of her incredible efforts.

Sue will be long remembered for her light, love and genuine ability to listen and make people feel seen and heardVale Sue Jane Prosser.

We are forever inspired by your legacy of dedication and love for the homeless of our community.

Once again, thank you for standing with us in the huge embrace of our City of Newcastle and allowing us to be a daily being presence in the sacred spaces of care and support for her most vulnerable citizens.
